This was helpful. Now, I have questions about latex foam:
I need to repair a “bench” with a spring suspension. This is almost unheard of in modern manufacturing, but it is part of the attractiveness of this piece:
o You mentioned “firmness”, and I don’t know what is a good firmness for a spring suspension. Can you make a recommendation?
o You mentioned “density” and I don’t know what is a good density for a spring suspension. Can you make a recommendation?
o I don’t know how “firmness” and “density” relate.
o Can you recommend an appropriate glue and polyester layer? Should I layer both sides?
o Cutting the dimensions is something I can do thanks to your demonstration above. I don’t know about the other geometry:
Should the foam simply cover the tops of the springs, or should it wrap from frame member to frame member?
Does it need to be beveled (“thinned”) at the edges?
What is a reasonable thickness?
I sure could use some advice about latex foam. I don’t want to make any mistakes.
