Challenges were faced and triumphs celebrated in the beginner upholstery class: Leslie’s 1950’s era chrome dinette chair was a perfect fit for the class.

Before: chrome dinette chair with original plastic upholstery & taped seat

Aside from the task of figuring out how the back of this chair comes apart (wooden dowels extend from the chair back into the steel tubes), the challenge of contrasting fabric choice for the seat box and piping was easily solved with a floral print fabric that Leslie found to compliment her blue vinyl.

Leslie makes adjustments to the tension of her seat fabric as she staples it on.
